Ingredient Lab: Metabiotics Resveratrol
How ATZEN Metabiotics Resveratrol is different from other Resveratrol?
Resveratrol is getting increasingly popular in health and well being for its ability to combat aging. We are learning that resveratrol is present in wine and some fruits that we eat. It's not surprising that resveratrol is now in skin care products. As with many things in life, not all resveratrol are the same. It is important for the consumer to know the differences and make wise decisions in the products they use.
Please take the time to read the labels and understand what type of resveratrol is used in your skin care products. Before and After with ATZEN products with Metabiotics Resveratrol
ATZEN products use Metabiotics Resveratrol because of its benefits in age-reversing, non-surgical microlifting, anti-inflammation, and collagen building. Metabiotics™ Resveratrol is a new age-reversing active manufactured using biofermentation with Pichia pastoris. The proprietary growth conditions allow the yeast to utilize the small molecule, resveratrol, during growth. During feeding, the cells are actively replicating, allowing utilization of the small molecule. Pichia pastoris utilizes resveratrol as a nutrient and by metabolization, the yeast convert the resveratrol into a form that can easily be processed by the body. Upon completion of the fermentation process, the yeast cells are then lysed and the extract is isolated. There are changes in the peptide chemistry of the ferment due to the resveratrol treatment. The resveratrol also resulted in the increased expression of 96 unique proteins not seen in the untreated yeast. This demonstrates that Pichia pastoris has metabolized new proteins due to the treatment with resveratrol. In vitro studies confirm that Metabiotics™ Resveratrol inhibits the activity of COX1, cyclooxygenase 1, a key pro-inflammatory mediator, and also promotes the synthesis of Type IV Collagen, COL4AI, superior to a resveratrol control. The in vivo panel study with Metabiotics™ Resveratrol showed significant improvement in the overall appearance of the skin. Dramatic lifting was noted in the perioral area including smoothing of expression lines and ameliorating wrinkles. Improvement in the overall skin tone and texture was observed in all panelists. Resveratrol - Works Wonders for Your Skin
Ingredient Lab: Resveratrol
The next time you raise a glass of resveratrol-rich red, toast to your health—and to your skin.
Need an even better reason to uncork and clink? The virtues of vino extend well beyond keeping your ticker in tip-top shape. (Hint: I’m not talking about the buzz!) Wine contains resveratrol, a potent antioxidant found in the skin of red wine grapes, which is now making a name for itself as a skin care ingredient with a five-fold approach to anti-aging: 1. Protects skin from damage: Our skin is constantly being attacked by free radicals, highly reactive molecules that are both produced by our bodies and circulating in the air around us thanks to smoke and other air pollutants. Antioxidants such as resveratrol, vitamin E, and vitamin C, neutralize existing free radicals so they don’t damage your skin, and they prevent these harmful molecules from forming in the first place. Resveratrol trumps vitamins E and C in effectiveness. 2. Soothes the skin: Toxins, sun exposure, and other irritants can damage your skin’s collagen and elastin to accelerate aging, wrinkles, and saggy skin. But resveratol’s anti-inflammatory properties calm and heal the skin to curb chronic damage. 3. Firms your face: Collagen is the key structural protein in our skin that provides healthful elasticity. As we age, our estrogen levels shift, thus producing less collagen, and resulting in crow’s feet, plus droopy, thin skin and lackluster lips. Resveratrol functions like estrogen to maintain collagen levels and moisture for firm, perky skin and a juicy complexion. 4. Provides sun-protection: There’s no question that sun exposure is a major culprit for skin damage and aging; it contributes to the classic signs of photoaging, which include uneven pigmentation, broken blood vessels, loss of collagen and elastin, and wrinkly, sagging skin. While studies show that drinking red wine can help protect your skin from sun damage, thanks to the skin-saving ingredient resveratrol, a more prudent, potent way to summon the benefits of this powerful antioxidant is to slather it directly on your face and body. Applied topically, resveratrol protects skin and inhibits damage from a broad spectrum of UVA and UVB rays. 5. Maintains healthy skin cells: Young-looking skin is evidence of young, healthy skin cells. Our old skin cells are replaced by new ones at remarkable rate: it only takes about a month for skin cell turnover. However, the older we get, the slower the rate. Visible signs of aging, such as dull skin, begin when old cells outnumber new. While there’s no way to entirely stop skin cells from aging, resveratrol encourages your body to expend energy maintaining healthy tissue, which extends the lifespan of cells and keeps your skin glowing. Try these resveratrol-rich products to protect, nourish, and serve your skin:

Kate Middleton Stretch Marks?
The buzz recently has been Kate Middleton's pregnancy. How exciting is this? I am so anxious to see what the baby looks like given how attractive Kate and William are. I have been so disgusted with the whole royal family in recent years so Kate is definitely a breath of fresh air. She is down to earth and approachable.
Well pregnancy can wreak havoc on a woman's body shape even for a girlish thin body like Kate's. Just about everyone gets stretch marks. In fact 75% to 90% of pregnant women get stretch marks during and after pregnancy. Like most people, you probably hate stretch marks. The question is not whether you have it or will have it but what are you going to do to prevent it or get rid of it.
So what is Kate to do to prevent stretch marks? I recently asked industy veteran, Catherine Atzen, founder of ATZEN, the premier natural, high performing, and safe skin care company, what women, specifically pregant women, should do about their stretch marks.
Ms. Atzen mentioned that she has a product developed specifically for stretch marks, the DNA Repair and Lift Serum, and it been proven to deliver great results for women such as Kate. She recommends that pregnant women should use this product every day after shower to prevent stretch marks during and post pregnancy. You can also see her talk about stretch marks in this video. Well there you have it. Until next time, stay safe and take great care of your skin.
